Arbitrum DAO has approved the use of approximately 225 million ARB tokens, valued at nearly $190 million, to enhance its gaming ecosystem. Following this decision, the “Gaming Catalyst Program” (GCP) is positioned to invest in and grant funding to various gaming projects.
Program Structure and Transparency
The GCP has established an initial structure to support contributors’ investment authority, alongside the formation of a framework that will provide transparency reports regarding GCP personnel and compensation. To date, Arbitrum’s gaming program has spent about $1.2 million, with 93.5% of costs allocated to legal fees for establishing various entities and salaries for team members.
Future Plans
In the first quarter of 2025, program contributors will begin financing gaming projects and will continue to expand the team to enhance operational capabilities. According to the report, program managers aim to fund a total of 100 projects over a three-year period.
Dan Peng, a member of the program’s operations team, noted that “by December 29, 2024, we will have a pool of 64 projects from game developers through our new website and application form, showing high levels of interest.”
