Donald Trump signed the much-anticipated executive order last night, ordering the development of a national digital asset reserve.
As talk of a US national Bitcoin Reserve grows, the topic has become a topic of discussion between Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and Riot Platforms Vice President Pierre Rochard.
Pierre Rochard, vice president of Bitcoin mining company Riot Platforms, claimed that Ripple is the biggest obstacle to the US Bitcoin strategic reserve.
Pierre Rochard stated that Ripple (XRP ($3.18)) is the biggest obstacle to introducing Bitcoin as a strategic asset in the US.
Accordingly, Rochard claimed that Ripple aggressively lobbied and spent millions of dollars to block the BTC ($105,191.58) reserve plan.
Rochard also claimed that Ripple was prioritizing XRP over supporting Bitcoin.
He added that the Ripple hurdle was potentially due to Ripple’s interest in introducing a central bank digital currency (CBDC) that could run on its infrastructure.
Ripple CEO’s Response Was Quick!
In the face of these significant allegations, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse also made a statement and denied the allegations that Ripple was lobbying against the Bitcoin reserve plan.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has denied allegations that the company is lobbying against a US Bitcoin reserve, stating that he supports a multi-token reserve.
As the Bitcoin reserve debate continues, former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao stated that the Bitcoin reserve has almost been approved following the appointment of Senator Cynthia Lummis to chair the Senate Digital Assets Subcommittee.
Unless you are choosing to ignore the core tenants of the POTUS campaign (which aggressively supports American companies and technologies), our efforts are actually INCREASING the likelihood of a crypto strategic reserve (which includes bitcoin) happening.
