Ben Zhou, co-founder and CEO of cryptocurrency exchange Bybit, spoke about Pi Coin (PI ($0.71)), which entered a new phase in its mainnet today and started to be listed on exchanges, in a recent statement.
Regarding Bybit’s failure to list PI, some members of the user community claimed that the exchange’s listing was rejected by PI developers. However, Zhou said that this was not the case. The CEO explained the reasons for not listing PI as follows:
- There is an official warning about PI issued by the Chinese police in 2023, and the warning includes statements that the project is a scam targeting especially elderly people and that people’s personal data is being leaked.
- Bybit did not submit a listing request to PI, and claims by PI developers that the company’s listing request was rejected because it failed Bybit’s identity verification process are complete nonsense.
- If the PI token is truly legitimate and honest, it should publish reports behind its claims, but instead the developers are spreading fake information and carrying out childish attacks.
